Meet our next round of artists!

Meet our next round of artists!

We are pleased and proud to announce the two new artists in residence for the spring quarter at Epiphany Space! For the next three months, two members of our community will have one evening per month to stage an event showcasing their work and the talents of the community.

Beginning April 29, we will host workshops led by professional singer Celia Chavez and visual artist Esme Moreau. Please join our excitement in supporting these artists, and watch them flourish within the space. Here’s a little about each of them:

professional singer Celia ChavezIn recent years CELIA CHAVEZ has sung with major artists including P!nk, Seal, Melody Gardot, Julia Fordham and Brandon Flowers of the Killers. She currently tours internationally with Enrique Iglesias as his romantic duet partner, while also touring on her own to promote her most recent EP release, “Dare to Love.” Celia gained a firm musical foundation through at least a dozen years of childhood piano lessons, school musicals and choir — including the women’s jazz vocal ensembles in both high school and college, and goofing off in stairwells singing girl group style with her besties — all which led to teaching singers to listen to one another and make one sound with many notes. As a board member of the Seattle Composers Alliance, she helped galvanize the professional composer community into a resource for networking, career guidance, and focused, relevant workshops. During this time, Celia entered the studio session world, co-wrote songs for film, and began vocal arranging on numerous fast-paced recording projects. Her relocations to New York City and Los Angeles led to more recording sessions, regular work as a backup singer and the release of five recordings to date as a performing songwriter and bandleader.

Celia is thrilled to share her joy and passion for harmony as well as her experience of how it works with the Epiphany Space community.

ESME MOREAU works in the entertainment industry with studios such as Warner Bros, and has had work showcased at The HIVE Gallery in DTLA, The Perky Nerd Gallery, Death and the Maiden Conference in Winchester, UK, and has shown up in several independent publications worldwide. She has wide experience with digital and mixed media, paint, and textile mediums – sometimes combining them to create pieces that feel out of time. She teeters between timelines in the ley-lines of the beaches, mountains and historical sites of Southern California. With one foot in the past, the other in the future, she experiments with antique and modern methods of creating art. Esme is a loving wife, friend and fur-mom, an award-winning artist, and one who enjoys unplugging and going outside for adventures, especially in Los Angeles. Connecting local plants, people and art, Esme looks forward to sharing what she has learned about native plants and herbs with the Epiphany Space community.
